Our client is seeking a Senior General Manager responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, and long-term sustainability of the mine. The role ensures the achievement of safety, production, cost, and compliance targets through effective strategy execution, resource optimisation, and strong stakeholder engagement. It provides strategic direction across all operational and support functions, drives operational excellence, and fosters a high-performance, values-driven culture across the operation.

Qualifications & Experience:
- B.Tech / B. Degree (NQF Level 7) in Mining Engineering, Engineering, Metallurgy, Geology, or equivalent professional qualification
- Postgraduate qualification (advantageous): MBA, MBL, or ARM Senior Management/Leadership equivalent
- Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (MMCC) and/or GCC (recommended)
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in the mining industry
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior management role
- Extensive open pit mining experience in a large-scale mining environment
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary operational teams
- Demonstrated experience in strategy execution, business optimisation, and operational performance management
- Experience managing significant operational, capital, and labour budgets
- Proven stakeholder engagement experience with organised labour, communities, regulators, and industry bodies
- Medically fit and able to meet required medical fitness standards
- Valid Code EB driver’s licence
- Legal appointment in terms of MHSA requirements
- Delegated Information Officer (POPIA) appointment
